VINEYARD: All the fruit for this wine comes from the Seresin Home vineyard on the upper terraces surrounding the winery. The vineyard is made up of a variety of free-draining Waimakiriri type soils.

VARIETIES: Pinot Noir(40%), Chardonnay(55%)and Pinot Meunier(5%)

VINIFICATION: The fruit was hand-picked and whole-bunch pressed. Following fermentation 50% of the wine was aged in French oak. After secondary fermentation in the bottle, the wine was aged on its yeast lees for over three years to add complexity. The Moana was disgorged and then held for a further twelve months before release.

The finished wine has an alcohol of 12 percent, a pH of 3.1, 5.9g/L titratable acid and 3.1g/L residual sugar.

CELLARING POTENTIAL: This wine has the potential to improve over the next five years.
